Behind This Disguise

There's a vicious side of me
I left the world uneasy
Now putting on the mask
To defy the task
Of hiding oneself
Siding with no one else
Behind it all is pain, misery, and sorrow
But inside I'm still hollow
When I'm around others
I turn into another
One with kindness, laughter, and happiness
Mostly positive attitudes; no less
Beneath the mask are lies
Secretly being despise
I feel trapped like a caged animal
Pretending not to be ferocious and sentimental
Now I have taken off the mask
At a crossroad of choices I ask
Should I show the real me
Or rather I continue to quietly roam free?
